Update - I have revised my scoring a bit, due to the fact that there are many higher quality hosts out there other than shared hosting services like Hostgator. The Hostgator service is good for intermediate to advanced webmasters, but beginners could be overwhelmed without help. I give the Hostgator hosting service a 10 out of 10 for Drupal hosting. The unlimited SQL databases, unlimited disk space, and unlimited bandwidth features were the biggest factors in making this my main host, but as you can see, there are many other great features that they throw in there with unlimited access. Hostgator offers unlimited disk space, bandwidth, domains, subdomains, parked domains, email accounts, ftp accounts, and SQL databases. Basically this is your total file count on your account from what I can tell. Everything is unlimited basically, except something they call Inodes. Once I got started with it, I couldn't stop.Īs I said before, I have been using Hostgator exclusively for Drupal hosting for over a year now, and it is just awesome. This was quite a process as I have many test websites, and other web properties that I manage through the Drupal CMS.

After the DNS propagated, I got to work transferring my exporting my old Drupal MySQL database from PHPMyAdmin. I also wanted to see if those same problems would be a problem for Hostgator. I setup my new account using my most popular site, so I could test out these errors I was getting from before. I thought this was the best choice for an aspiring Drupal web developer. For what I was currently paying for on 2 accounts from 1 and 1, I was able to get a virtually unlimited account for about $2 more per month.
